The Královka Complex in Bedřichov is a modern recreational center in
the heart of the Jizera Mountains, offering a variety of accommodation, sports, and relaxation options. The centerpiece of the area is the Královka lookout tower, which provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape, attracting tourists and nature enthusiasts alike. The complex includes a hotel, a restaurant serving Czech cuisine, a children's playground, sports facilities, and a wellness center. Královka is a popular year-round destination: a starting point for cross-country skiing trails in winter and perfect for hiking and cycling in summer.
Customer's requirements
The challenge
The installation of ventilation systems for the Královka complex presented specific challenges. The project demanded high standards for unit functionality and efficiency, long-term sustainability, service support, the design of the ventilation ceiling in the open kitchen, and the full automation of the entire complex’s system.
For the ventilation kitchen ceilings, we had to meet special requirements from the architect, particularly regarding integration with the interior design and dimmable lighting. The main challenge was the limited height in the brewing area, which constrained both the design and installation options. Additionally, the window height was critical — the ventilation ceiling could not be mounted lower than the window line. To meet all these demands, we developed a unique ceiling solution, unlike anything we had previously implemented.
Regarding the units themselves, specific requirements were set for the air volume capacity, which we not only met but exceeded, allowing for additional capacity.

The solution
In the Královka complex, we implemented a comprehensive ventilation solution that meets the specific requirements of each area.
We installed a ventilation kitchen ceiling 60 m2 in the mail kitchen, which must be separated from the restaurant to prevent customers from being disturbed by sounds and odours from the kitchen. In the open show kitchen of the restaurant, we used a 28 m2 ventilation ceiling in an exclusive design with custom lamination, tailored to the high interior standards set by the architect. Both ceilings are connected to a DUPLEX Basic 10 100 heat recovery unit, ensuring efficient and energy-saving ventilation in the kitchen areas.
For the ventilation of rooms, corridors, facilities, and reception areas, we implemented the DUPLEX Multi Eco 3 500 heat recovery unit, which maintains high air quality throughout the complex. The wellness areas are equipped with a DUPLEX ECV 580 heat recovery unit, providing targeted ventilation adapted to the specific needs of these relaxation zones.

How does the ceiling connected to the unit work?
Our highly efficient (99%) ATREA ventilation ceilings have the option of using a DUPLEX Basic heat recovery unit for efficient air exchange in the kitchen.
Polluted air is extracted and filtered through high quality stainless steel filters and then also as an option eliminated by the UV-C filtration technology.
The ceilings are a closed system which means air-tight solution that preserves the building construction and eliminates smell into the premises. This solution provides optimal working conditions for the kitchen staff.
