ATREA as the Main Sponsor of the World Conference RoomVent 2026

From September 15–18, 2026, the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague hosted the 18th edition of the international RoomVent conference, one of the world’s most important professional events focused on ventilation, indoor air quality, and healthy indoor environments.

Today, its participants are heading back to their home countries after three days packed with expert presentations, discussions, workshops, and the sharing of the latest findings from both research and practice. It was truly an exceptional global gathering – 361 participants from 44 countries and five continents came to Prague. The scientific programme included 220 oral presentations, 33 poster presentations, 4 keynote lectures, and 10 workshops.

RoomVent has a long tradition dating back to 1987, and over the course of its history, the conference has been held in cities such as Stockholm, Yokohama, Busan, São Paulo, Xi’an, Turin, and Helsinki. This year, the conference took place in the Czech Republic for the very first time, placing Prague among the world’s leading centres of the field for several days. In two years, RoomVent will move to Osaka, Japan, where this international tradition will continue.

The president of this year’s conference was Prof. Karel Kabele from the Czech Technical University in Prague, who also officially opened the event. The opening remarks were also given by Ing. Daniel Morávek, co-owner of ATREA. Among the keynote speakers was Prof. Risto Kosonen from Aalto University in Finland, President of the international organisation SCANVAC, who delivered the conference’s first keynote lecture. The international scientific committee also included the renowned Slovak expert Prof. Dušan Petráš from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

For ATREA, it was a great honour to support RoomVent 2026 as the main sponsor. However, we did not remain solely in the role of an event partner – we were also an active part of the professional programme. We organised a workshop entitled “From Design Intent to Real Indoor Air Quality”, and our colleague and expert Ing. Luděk Špidla delivered a professional presentation entitled “Indoor Air Quality in 21st Century Buildings”.

RoomVent thus brought together leading research, design, technology manufacturers, and experience from the real operation of buildings. At ATREA, we have also been continuously exploring ways to use modern technologies to create healthier indoor environments, increase energy efficiency, and further advance building ventilation.

Gala Evening in the Heart of Prague

The professional programme of RoomVent 2026 was also complemented by a gala evening, which took place on Wednesday, September 16, in the exclusive premises of Art Restaurant Mánes on the banks of the Vltava River. The iconic Functionalist building, with views of the National Theatre, the Dancing House, and the Prague skyline, provided the setting for the social highlight of the entire conference. 

For us at ATREA, as the main sponsor of RoomVent 2026, the evening was another opportunity to meet experts, researchers, and company representatives from different parts of the world, this time away from the lecture halls. The informal part of such international conferences often provides space for conversations, the exchange of experience, new contacts, and future cooperation. From the very beginning, the gala evening was conceived by the organisers as a place for participants from around the world to meet and network.

The evening combined gastronomy, Prague’s atmosphere, and live music. The cultural experience was provided by Barbora De Nunes Cambraia, a singer from the National Theatre in Prague, whose performance added a festive atmosphere to the entire evening.
